Its Raining!

Just thought I'd treat you to this particularly attractive picture of me, taken on the canopy walkway at Poring Hot Springs, near Kota Kinabalu. We were going to write a post but the day trip was a washout (pun intended) and included such highlights as:
1) Forgetting the rain coats
2) Forgetting the mossie repellent
3) Wearing incorrect shoes
And the list goes on... So instead we are wiping today from our memories.

Andy and Rachel,
Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you both. It is Mike from Minnesota. It sounds like some great diving experiences for you both. I have been reading your blog off and on and it sounds like a fascinating trip for both of you. I'll read some more. Are you guys going to the West coast of Australia or the East coast? If I ever travel again to Australia I want to go to the West side. It is hardly populated there and from all indications, it's like California was about 70 years ago, only wilder. If you guys haven't decided where you are going to go in New Zealand, I would recommend South Island. There are more active rec activities of the type you guys like. Katherine and I did N. Isle in the '80's and while it was nice, it was more of a conventional tour spot and we did a lot of driving around rather than hiking. Here in Minnesota we haven't had much snow in Minnesota yet so since I've always wanted to see the mountains in Winter, my son and I will be heading out to Steamboat Colorado to do some cross-country skiing and some downhill. Well my son will do most of the downhill, I will just be the "plow king" on the slopes. Andy, I will send you some of the good shots of our trip on your e-mail. So watch for them. Well have a safe trip and continue to have the time of your lives. Mike

Hey Rachel and Andy,
Merry Christmas to both of you, where ever you are celebrating it! No matter how strange it may feel having a Christmas abroad and away from family, think of me... I'll be at work. On the night shift. Woo.

Anyway. Keep up the blog. Long time reader, long time fan. yadda yadda...
